Postponement of Council elections

South Australia’s Local Government elections, originally scheduled for November 2026, have been postponed to April 2027 following a request from the South Australian Electoral Commission.

For Council, the delay means that current Elected Members will remain in office until April 2027, continuing their work to represent the community.

For residents, this provides extra time to check and update enrolment details, learn more about the election process, and consider nominating as a candidate.
