Making sure your bin gets collected

How great that our waste collection continues over the holiday season!

To make sure your bin gets picked up, ensure it is:

  • placed out by 6 am on the day of collection
  • not obstructed by a tree or car (about 1 m away) and if possible 50 cm from another bin
  • facing the street, wheels closest to your house, and straight is best!
  • closed properly (not overfull!)
  • not more than 60 kg (or it can’t be lifted)
  • not packed too tightly (or it might not come out of the bin)
  • not contaminated (check which bin it goes in)
  • authorised (second or subsequent kerbside bins require an additional kerbside bin permit)
  • damaged (if your bin is broken or damaged, please complete a bin repair request).

Christmas waste reduction

Christmas is a time when we tend to consume and waste a lot more.

Let's work together to reduce our waste to landfill by avoiding, reducing, re-using, recycling and composting this holiday season.
