Senior Citizen of the Year
Ms Kathy Pfeiffer

Kathy never tires of helping the Community. On any given day she is out helping someone, somewhere.
Kathy volunteers for the Council as a part of the Home Support Program, at the Moonlight Markets, letter box dropping, at the Community Orchard and as a part of the Fruit Crew. Kathy provides transport help every Friday, where she is committed to getting members of the Community to their appointments, helping with shopping whilst giving friendship, encouragement and a listening ear to these people. She never refuses a letter box drop for the Council often requested at the last minute and she's out posting pamphlets at 6:30 am to fit it in her day. She is always at the Community Orchard on Volunteer days and makes extra trips for additional watering or putting the green bins out.
Kathy also volunteers in the Community at the Campbelltown Repair Cafe, helps at the Campbelltown Kindergarten, makes clothes for under privileged children overseas and regularly donates plasma with the Red Cross.
Any group or person Kathy works with has benefited by her friendship, help, untiring efforts and wonderful personality. Everything she does is helping in some way for the Community.

Joint Citizen of the Year
Mr Karsan Hutchinson

Karsan empowers his students through education and community engagement. He has given the children invaluable learning opportunities and experiences guiding them toward becoming compassionate, informed citizens who contribute positively to society. Karsan fosters a sense of Community, values experiential learning, and prioritises student engagement. His work embodies a holistic approach, blending academic growth with Community connection to prepare students for a meaningful, well-rounded educational experience. He has ensured that these experiences have not only benefited the students in their personal growth, but also the local Campbelltown Community.
Karsan has strengthened connections between Thorndon Park Primary School and the broader Campbelltown Community through excursions, environmental initiatives, and intergenerational programs. His collaborations have provided students with real-world experiences in Community involvement and environmental stewardship. He engaged the kids and their families to join in a planting program at Thorndon Park Reserve on National Tree Planting Day and restored local habitats on school grounds by securing 250 seedlings that the children spent the day planting through the Nature Blocks Junior Program.

Mr Charlie Sproule

Charlie was the 2024 Head Prefect at Charles Campbell College and gave freely of his time to actively support and mentor primary students who were part of Rotary EarlyAct Club. Charlie is admired and respected by students at the College and he is viewed as a solid, reliable and hardworking student by staff. He has mentored other student leaders who have collectively made very positive contributions to improving student engagement and agency across the school. His passionate and caring approaches to supporting our EarlyAct students has left a valuable and lasting impression on them.
