About Council
Council is the elected body who represent the interests of our community. With the support of staff, Elected Members decide the strategic direction of Council and the projects and services that are delivered.

Council is comprised of the Mayor and 10 Elected Members.

Council meetings are open to the public and anyone may attend to observe. Attendees may be asked to leave the room if Council need to consider a confidential item.
Public question time and deputations
While meetings are open to the public, it is not possible to join in the debate or speak during the meeting, with the exception of:
- public question time
- previously approved deputations.
Minutes, agendas and audios
Council agendas are made available in advance of meetings so that the public can be aware of matters being discussed by Council. Copies are available online three full days before the meeting or hard copies can be viewed at the Council's offices.
A copy of the minutes and audio of Council Meetings are available on our website by no later than 5pm on the Friday following the meeting.
