Transition to Electric Vehicles

We are seeing an increasing number of cars on our roads, along with the air and noise pollution that comes with it. With fuel prices rising at an alarming rate with no signs of slowing down, a lot of us are looking for new solutions and alternative modes of transport.

Could electric vehicles (EVs) be the solution?

They create less air and noise pollution, and when powered by renewable energy, produce less climate altering greenhouse gases. South Australia has the highest proportion of Renewable Energy in Australia, making it an opportune place to own an EV. Since most Australians drive less than 40 km each day, and most households have a second car, transitioning to an EV may not be the big, life-changing decision you think! You can consider replacing your day-to-day commute car with an EV and keeping your second car (or hiring a standard petrol car) for the odd long distance travelling.

Check out the Electric Vehicle Council's EV Myth Busters to find out what is fact and what is fiction when it comes to EVs.

There are currently 65 EV models available in the Australian market.

To find out what's available, visit the Electric Vehicle Council's website.

Visit the Electric Vehicle Database website to help you decide which EV is right for you.
