Youth Crew
What is Youth Crew?
Youth Crew is a group of young people aged 12-25 who volunteer their time to brainstorm, plan and implement programs and events for young people in the Campbelltown Council area.
Role of Youth Crew
- Assist Council to develop and run youth projects and initiatives
- Provide feedback and suggestions for the Campbelltown Youth Program
- Provide support for events and programs for young people in the Campbelltown Council area
- Promote a positive image of young people
- Promote Campbelltown Youth programs, events and initiatives
Youth Crew Membership
- Open to young people aged 12-25 with an interest in the Campbelltown Council area
- Supported by Council Staff
There are two ways to get involved in Youth Crew.
Youth Crew Members:
- Official Council volunteers
- May be involved in planning/ running multiple different projects, ideas or events over the year
- Meet as required depending on upcoming events, programs and activities
- Between meetings, may be requested to provide feedback via other methods (such as email)
- Examples of projects Youth Crew Members might be involved in:
- Study Relief Packs (planning the contents, packing the packs)
- Movies in the Park (selecting the film and activities, volunteer roles at the event such as MC, VIP guest check-in)
- Books on Screen (film selection, welcoming attendees, set-up and pack-up)
- Podcast
- Flexible volunteering options and training opportunities
Youth Crew Project Volunteers:
- Volunteer their time for one specific project
- No ongoing commitment beyond the completion of the project
- May get involved through:
- a call out from Council (for example: planning and running a one-off event, participating in a ‘Give-an-Hour’ initiative or helping to create a public art project)
- by coming to Council with their own idea (for example someone with an idea and passion to establish a youth market, Council might provide assistance to get the project established and person(s) with the idea might take a leading role in the planning, development and implementation of the idea)
- Very flexible and adaptable volunteering options based on needs of the project/ idea
