Digital Literacy

Digital literacy refers to a range of skills that help you use technology safely and effectively and to participate in the digital world.

At Campbelltown Library we offer regular small group training sessions, short courses as well as 1:1 digital help to help you learn about:

  • using your digital device - including laptops, tablets and smartphones
  • understanding online safety and how to keep yourself safe
  • web browsing and websites
  • installing and using apps
  • making sense of your operating system - Windows 10, Android and iOS
  • new and emerging technology

Digital Diggers Local History Group

Group meets weekly at 1pm on Thursdays to use their digital skills to research local history online.

Digital Help Drop Ins

Do you have an IT question or need some help getting your head around a new digital device?

Library volunteers will be on hand to try and answer your technology questions and help you discover ways of using technology for learning, entertainment and staying connected in an informal and comfortable setting. If they don't know the answer they can help point you in the right direction!  Assistance is given using Windows based computers and participants can bring their personal laptop or mobile device.

Before you arrive, please ensure:

  1. Your device is charged.
  2. You know your library barcode & PIN (if applicable to your query).
  3. You know any user names &  passwords applicable to your enquiry.
  4. You know your system account name & password (eg. Apple ID, Google Account)

When: Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (excluding public holidays)
Time:  1pm - 3pm

When: Saturdays (excluding public holidays)
Time: 10am - 12pm

Where: Campbelltown Library IT Suite, 171 Montacute Road, Newton.

No bookings required.

Beyond the Basics - Intermediate

You know the basics, so now what? In this small group class we'll help you fill the gaps in your knowledge of all things computers, technology and the internet. This class meets weekly in the Library with a qualified trainer and helpful volunteers.

Join any time. Tea and coffee is provided.

When: Tuesdays
Time:  1pm - 3pm
Where: Campbelltown Library IT Suite, 171 Montacute Road, Newton.
