Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

What is YAC?

The Campbelltown City Council Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a formal Section 41 Committee of Council and provides an opportunity for young people to discuss youth issues and make recommendations for positive change for young people who live, work and study in the Campbelltown Council area. YAC members meet every two months and aim to represent and advise Council on the needs, views and aspirations of local young people.

Role of YAC

  • Assist Council to develop and run youth projects and initiatives
  • Provide recommendations to Council on matters that are relevant to local young people
  • Promote a positive image of young people

YAC Meetings

  • Meet formally every two months in the Campbelltown City Council Chambers
  • YAC makes real decisions that impact young people in Campbelltown

YAC Membership

  • YAC Membership is open to young people aged 12 - 25 years who live, work or study in the Campbelltown City Council area
  • YAC Members are official Council Volunteers
  • Fully supported and mentored by Council Staff
