Local Shopping Precincts

The City of Campbelltown includes a number of desirable public spaces and destinations for residents, visitors and local businesses. There are a number of large and small local shopping precincts where visitors and local residents alike can enjoy shopping, with a variety of offerings to meet every taste and budget. From the unique Jan Street Newton precinct that offers a range of local goods and services to the major redevelopment of Magill Village mainstreet (currently underway), Campbelltown’s local shops and businesses offer something for everyone.

Campbelltown Village

Campbelltown Village is located 8km north-east of Adelaide on Lower North East Road and includes Lower Gorge Village which is on the corner of Lower North East and Gorge Roads. The main shopping area comprises of a supermarket and numerous retail outlets that are setback behind a large off-street car park.

Jan Street

Jan Street is located between Newton Central Shopping Centre and Newton Court Shopping Centre. Jan Street was upgraded in 2017 through a place making project to provide the local community with a desirable public space and destination of choice. Council is supportive of community events in the precinct that encourage greater use of the space for people to gather, sit, interact, be entertained and socialise.

Magill and Newton Industrial and Innovation Precincts

Magill and Newton Industrial and Innovation Precincts are home to a number of small businesses, many in the manufacturing and light industry sector, with Council endorsing a Master Plan to help support both businesses and the broader community, and assist in providing an economic boost to the region. Industrial Precinct Business Signage is located in both precincts with the opportunity for businesses to have their business names listed.

Magill Village

Magill Village is centred around the intersection of Magill Road and St Bernards/Penfold Road in Magill. It is located approximately 6 km east of Adelaide CBD and is located within both the Campbelltown City Council and the City of Burnside Council areas. Magill Village has a rich cultural heritage and offers an authentic, appealing and memorable experience.
