Lochiel Park Community Garden

Lochiel Park Community Garden is a membership garden where members grow vegetables, herbs and fruit in a sustainable way.

Produce is grown communally or individually by members who lease a small plot. Membership of the garden is open to anyone in 'reasonable walking distance' of the garden (to reduce food miles). You don't have to have a plot in order to become a member and join in community activities, but you do have to be a member and demonstrate your commitment to the garden before you are considered for a plot.

The current annual membership fee is $30 per household, payable on 1 April each year. The current seasonal plot fee is also $30, payable on both 1 April and 1 October (the beginning of each growing season) each year. Working bee sessions are held monthly and 'mini-bees' weekly with other opportunities to become involved also available.
