Immunisation

Immunisation is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting children and the community against certain diseases.

Clinics

Eastern Health Authority (EHA) provides immunisation programs on behalf of Campbelltown City Council, and residents are invited to attend the clinic held at The ARC Campbelltown, or any other clinic held by EHA. Frequently Asked Questions

Please bring your child's Personal Health Record book, Medicare Card and any relevant immunisation history and record cards to every immunisation session you attend.

Meningococcal B vaccinations are currently funded for babies and children from 6 weeks of age who are residents of SA and have Medicare when administered as part of the National Immunisation Program (NIP). Meningococcal B vaccines are administered at 6 weeks, 4 months and 12 months of age.

For children who are not eligible under the State Government Meningococcal B Immunisation Program, parents can purchase the Meningococcal B vaccine, Bexsero, for $140 per dose. Contact EHA for further information or to discuss your child’s eligibility. Please note EHA cannot accept vaccines purchased from the pharmacy prior to appointments.

For details and information, visit the SA Health website.

Eastern Health Authority’s Immunisation Nurses can provide an assessment of your immunisation records where vaccinations have been provided by a Doctor and other immunisation providers either in Australia or Overseas.

To arrange for an assessment, you will need to complete a request for immunisation assessment form and provide copies of all previous immunisation history in English or translated into English. To find out more, visit the EHA website.

EHA offer flu vaccines generally from April to December each year.

Book an appointment at a special Flu Clinic, or if booking at a public clinic with other scheduled vaccinations, no separate booking is required for a Flu Vaccine; please just speak to EHA staff when you arrive at the clinic.

A cost applies for the flu vaccine unless you are eligible for a free flu vaccination through the government’s Annual Funded Influenza Program.

In some cases, a medical practitioner will complete a script of a vaccine so that the individual can purchase the medication and arrange the vaccination at their convenience. Vaccines purchased under these circumstances are not able to be administered by EHA immunisation nurses, as they have not been stored under the control of our offices.

Most vaccines are able to be provided to you by EHA if you provide the script to them.

Contact EHA to discuss which vaccine your GP has recommended and whether we are able to assist you.
