The kindness project
Welcome kindfluencer! Just by being here, you’re already making a difference.
Here in Campbelltown, we're starting a kindness movement and we invite you to get involved. Together we can choose kindness and work toward creating a happier, more connected Community.
Acts of kindness don't need to be large or expensive. Small acts can make a bigger impact than you might expect.
Why not try one of these simple ideas to spread a little kindness?
- hold the door or lift for someone
- let someone merge into traffic
- compliment someone
- pick a flower for someone
- donate blood
- smile and say hello.
Acts of kindness are contagious. When someone receives kindness, they are more likely to pay it forward, starting a chain reaction that can spread across our entire Community.
Acts of kindness have been scientifically shown to have a number of health and wellbeing benefits. When we perform, receive or even witness an act of kindness, our body produces the hormones oxytocin and serotonin. These feel good hormones can:
- increase self-esteem, optimism, self-worth, energy, calmness and lifespan
- decrease pain, stress, anxiety, depression and blood pressure.
