Sport4All
Campbelltown City Council is proud to be the first South Australian Council to have partnered with Sport4All, helping to make sport in our City more welcoming and inclusive for people with disability.
What is Sport4All?
In Australia, approximately 1 in 5 (21.4%) of people – or about 5.5 million – have disability. People with disability still get the same physical, mental, and social benefits from participating in sport and physical activity as those without disability. Sport4All exists to help schools and sports clubs across Australia to become more inclusive and welcoming spaces for people with disability.
In South Australia, with only 8% of people with disability actively participate in organised sport at least once per week. Sport4All is about creating a community where everyone feels welcome and is provided the opportunity to participate, regardless of their ability.
Sport4All in the City of Campbelltown
Inclusion Coach, Bradley Brider, is proactively working within our Community to guide local schools and sporting clubs through Sport4All’s online learning resources, helping them to understand what inclusion areas need focus.
Bradley brings lived experience of a person with disability to clubs and schools, creating a strong link to Sport4All’s purpose, highlighting the benefits the program can bring and empowering people with disability to have choice and control over where and how they would like to participate in sport.
Inclusive and accessible school sports
Sport should be accessible, safe, and fun for every student to enjoy and be a part of. Offering inclusive sports programs and encouraging greater accessibility and inclusion in schools not only promotes physical health, but also gives students of all abilities the chance to learn and interact with each other, building friendships and understanding along the way.
Sport4All’s award-winning inclusive sports program has been designed and delivered by people with disability and lived experiences, to help you build genuinely inclusive sports programs for your school.
Inclusive and accessible sports clubs
For people with disability, taking part in inclusive sport and recreation offers positive social and health outcomes. An inclusive environment at sports clubs can help make them become safe and welcoming spaces for your local community.
Here in our City, Campbelltown City Soccer Club is paving the way for inclusive sport, taking part in the Sport4All program to ensure that every player, coach, and community member feels welcome and valued. Read more.
