Accessible facilities

We are committed to building a community that members with a disability can access and enjoy.

We are proud to have been awarded the Communication Access Symbol for our:

  • Customer Service Centre at Council's Office, and
  • Campbelltown Library.

This symbol recognises that:

  • our staff have positive and welcoming attitudes towards all customers
  • people with communication difficulties will be given time to get their message across
  • important written information is available in different formats
  • communication boards are available on request
  • our phone service is communication friendly and our staff are confident with using the National Relay Service.

Keep an eye out for the Communication Access Symbol which is proudly displayed at Campbelltown City Council and Campbelltown Library.

Communication access aims to create a world where people who have communication difficulties are able to communicate successfully with everyone, everywhere.

Accessible toilet facilities are located in key buildings, parks and reserves throughout our city, as pictured on our Accessible Toilets Map.

Adult change facilities including an adult sized change table and hoist are installed at the following locations:

The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) system provides 24/7 access to accessible public facilities for people with a disability.

The MLAK system is a MLAA (Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia) initiative. People with a disability are able to purchase a MLAK key that will open all doors, toilets, playground equipment and other facilities fitted with a lock that uses the special MLAK cylinder.

We utilise the MLAK system for the accessible toilet at Paradise Recreation Plaza and the Liberty Swing (wheelchair swing) at Thorndon Park Playground.

Paradise Recreation Plaza

The accessible toilet at Paradise Recreation Plaza has specialised equipment to lift a person out of a wheelchair. This toilet is only accessible to people with a disability and uses a MLAK key.

If you don’t have your own MLAK key, you can use the key in the lockbox. Call us on 08 8366 9222 during business hours for the code or on 0417 851 795 if after hours.

Thorndon Park

The Liberty Swing (wheelchair swing) at Thorndon Park Playground is accessed via a MLAK key.

If you don’t have your own MLAK key, you can use the key in the lockbox. Call us on 08 8366 9222 during business hours for the code or on 0417 851 795 if after hours. Alternatively, if the Kiosk is open you can borrow the key there.

Order a MLAK

Eligibility for a MLAK is restricted to people who have a disability or have written authority from a doctor, a disability organisation, or a community health centre, or who is the owner or management of a building with an accessible toilet on site.

To purchase your own MLAK key, visit masterlocksmiths.com.au/mlak and complete the order form or visit a local master locksmith:
