Tree Assistance Grants for significant and regulated trees
Council recognises that the maintenance of significant and regulated trees can be complex and costly. Maintaining these important trees offers many benefits to our city and Community.
Our Tree Assistance Grant Program aims to promote the protection and management of significant and regulated trees by providing financial assistance to residents to maintain and nurture these important trees for future generations.
What assistance is available?
Grant funding is available to eligible residents to assist with the costs to conserve or maintain the health and safety of significant and regulated trees on private property. This includes pruning and removal of deadwood, defective or damaged branches, or minor reductions and other works to prolong the life of the tree.
Tree-damaging activity in the form of tree lopping, topping, root destruction or tree removal is not eligible for funding, nor is emergency pruning.
Eligible residents can access a reimbursement of 50% of the cost of agreed works (capped at $1,000 per tree). For concession card holders Council will refund up to a maximum of $1,000 per tree. There is no minimum value of works required to be eligible.
Conditions apply to all grant funding. Further details can be found in our Tree Assistance Grant Guidelines.
