At just 19 years old, Oliver Evans‑Wood is rapidly emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting young rowing talents.

A proud Athelstone local, Ollie’s rise has been powered by determination, discipline, and the support of initiatives such as Council’s Personal Achievement Grants.

Training with both the South Australian Sports Institute and the Adelaide University Boat Club, Ollie has already built a competitive résumé that many athletes would envy, and 2026 has been his strongest year yet. With a growing list of achievements, Ollie is only just beginning to show what he’s capable of. As he takes to the water in July, Council and the community will be watching proudly and cheering loudly.
