Polly Markwick
Mavis Dorothy (Polly) Marwick was affectionately known as 'Polly' from a young age, inspired by her childhood renditions of 'Polly Put the Kettle On'. In this interview, Polly shares her memories of growing up in a vibrant market gardening family of seventeen. With warmth and humour, she recalls the joys and challenges of family life, including their musical legacy. Known as The Musical Markwicks, the family band performed at community events such as the John Martins Parade and local garden parties, bringing music and joy wherever they went.
