Paradise Recreation Plaza
The Paradise Recreation Plaza is a contemporary multi-use facility that celebrates its history and natural surrounds of River Torrens Linear Park / Karrawirra Parri in influencing its design.
Set against the backdrop of giant gum trees the space brings a modern design ideal for people of all ages and skill levels who like to be active or just really love getting about on wheels.
Key features of the park include a skate area with bowl, flow zone and street area, dirt BMX track with multiple jumps and berm, pump track, ninja course, parkour zone, play area and sports zone for ball sports.
There are toilets, BBQs, shelters and a large lawn for people to enjoy a picnic and all the facilities on offer.
Dogs are permitted on-leash and a dog water fountain is available. Please bring dog bags to clean up after your pooch.
Paradise Recreation Plaza is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The park will be lit after hours with lights turning off at 11:00pm daily.

- This space is available and accessible for everyone at all times.
- Users of this space do so at their own risk.
- Users are responsible for determining their own capabilities. Play to your skill level.
- Council accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to persons or their equipment.
- Parents/legal guardians accompanying children must monitor their activity and safety.
- Users must wear the appropriate protective gear, clothing and footwear for the type of activity being undertaken.
- Skate or ride in areas suited to your level of ability. Look out for and respect other users.
- The surface of the skate area can be slippery when wet.
- Consider the weather when using the equipment.
- Motorised vehicles are not permitted within the site.
- Alcohol and glassware are not permitted within the active recreation spaces (including skate, BMX, pump track, parkour and playground areas).
- Skate area lights will be on until 11:00pm. The parkour zone must only be used during daylight hours.
- Please do not use any damaged surface or equipment.
- Please report damage or lighting issues to Council on 8366 9222 or after hours on 7071 3701.
- In an emergency call 000 for police, fire and ambulance.
Bowl
The Bowl is a contemporary take on a classic bowl shape, combing a mini ramp section, with three hips, two pockets and a waterfall. The mellow radi and lower ramp heights make it an ideal bowl to learn in whilst also allowing for fast lines and technical tricks between the individual sections.

Flow Zone
The Flow zone was inspired by the previous Paradise Skate Park replicating popular features such as the spine and box and re-imagining them in a new and interesting layout. This area provides a key link between the surrounding bowl and street areas that allows users the opportunity to link each of the areas together through a number of unique transfers and transition blends.

Street Area
The Street Area provides a number of fundamental and more distinctive street features. The features are a direct response to those requested during the community consultation workshops and fill the gaps in the surrounding skate park network for street skating provision.

The new Paradise Recreation Plaza is built upon the traditional lands of the Kaurna People, right next to Karrawirra Parri / River Torrens Linear Park. The Paradise Recreation Plaza recognises Kaurna heritage through design features and elements. Council acknowledges its Reconciliation Advisory Committee for providing guidance and advice on the Paradise Recreation Plaza design.
Chat Circle With Fire Pit
Fire has been central to many aspects of traditional First Nations cultures, including cooking, healing, storytelling and ceremonies.
This area provides a gathering space with natural features to meet with friends and family. It is also a great space to play and explore.The central fire pit is symbolic and not to be used for fires.
Oval
The new oval space viewed aerially is in the shape of the Kaurna shield ‘murlapaka’, one of two types of shield made by the Kaurna people. The murlapaka is made from the inner bark of a eucalyptus tree and is characterised by its oval shape with elongated tapering tips.
Ride, Scoot, Roll or Walk
Paradise Recreation Plaza is located on the beautiful Linear Park Trail. Humans on wheels and pedestrian access is available via Linear Park or from Darley Road.
Parking
Limited parking is available on-site (enter via Darley Rd), adjacent the Paradise Fire Station.
On-street parking is also available on Darley Road. Please note that parking is often busy on weekdays due to proximity to Paradise Interchange.
Paradise Interchange has parking with a pedestrian crossing on Darley Road or visitors can access the Plaza via the O-Bahn underpass.
Public Transport
Paradise Recreation Plaza is located directly opposite Paradise Interchange.
Birthday parties are very welcome at the site, however bookings of the facility are not offered. Shelters and picnic tables are available on a first come first serve basis.
Speakers (such as portable Bluetooth speakers) are permitted however please be respectful of other users (including children and families) in music selection and volume.
Marquees are permitted however please note that marquees must be weighted and the use of pegs is not allowed.
BBQs and Picnic Facilities
Electric BBQs are available for public use (free of charge), with several picnic tables and shelters located throughout the space. Please bring your own cooking utensils.
Drink Fountains
Drinking fountains are available, including taps where you can re-fill a water bottle.
Toilets
There is currently one public toilet on site.
A brand new accessible toilet block including two additional toilets as well as an adult change table and hoist will be constructed in early 2024.
Wi-Fi, Public Phone & Power
There are power points available for public use.
There is no public access wi-fi, however there is a public phone located across the road at Paradise Interchange for phone calls.

An accessible BBQ is available for use.
Accessible signage is being developed for the park including Communication Boards to be installed in 2024.
Tree Litter
Paradise Recreation Plaza is in a beautiful tree-lined location, which means leaf litter and sticks may make their way into the skate zone. Council has provided a broom and dustpan which can be used as required. Users are encouraged to help play their part in keeping Paradise Recreation Plaza tidy and user-friendly.
Graffiti
The use of spray paint, graffiti or tagging is not permitted anywhere within the Paradise Recreation Plaza. Graffiti will be removed by our Graffiti Removal Team. If you see graffiti, please report it to Council by calling 8366 9222 or online via the Council website.

Damage to infrastructure or maintenance issues can be reported via the My Local Services app, online or by calling Council on 8366 9222 during office hours or after hours 7071 3701.
