Smoking and vaping restrictions

A ban on smoking and vaping at certain Council locations, including the whole of Thorndon Park, has come into place.

Smoking and vaping are banned at the following locations from Thursday 20 March 2025 (penalties apply):

Within Thorndon Park
Within 5 metres of any point of a fixed barbecue located on Local Government Land within the Council area
Athelstone Tennis Club leased area
Campbelltown Memorial Oval, with the exception of the defined smoking area
Lochend House and Surrounds (inside the fenced area).

Signage will be installed at each of the areas to alert users of the ban.

This resolution was made by Council at its meeting on 4 March 2025, under clause 5.10.2 of By-Law No 4 – Local Government Land.
