Embedded battery devices collection

Published 19th December 2025
From 5 January 2026, Campbelltown's Household Chemical Waste Facility will accept products with built-in lithium-ion batteries (under 15kg and small).

Why? Battery fires are a serious risk - please never put any kind of battery in kerbside bins!

You can bring loose batteries or items with batteries embedded in them, like:

  • Bluetooth speakers and headphones
  • Electric toothbrushes
  • Vapes and e-cigarettes
  • Smartwatches and trackers
  • Power banks and portable chargers
  • Light-up toys and shoes
  • and more!

For details and full list of what we accept at this facility, including hazardous chemicals, paints, gas cannisters, TVs and computers and their accessories, visit our TV, computer and household chemical waste facility page.
