Public Interest Disclosure Act

New legislation, the PID Act (Public Interest Disclosure Act 2018), replaces the Whistleblower Protection Act and has been introduced to provide greater protection for whistleblowers (now called Informants) regarding the reporting of the following matters in South Australia:

  • Environmental and Health Information – where there is a substantial risk to the environment or to public health and safety
  • Public Administration Information – where there is potential corruption, misconduct or maladministration in public administration

Any person wishing to enquire or make a Disclosure at Council can do so by the following means:

  • In person, by approaching Michelle Hammond, General Manager Corporate & Community Services or Samantha Killington, Manager People & Culture at the Council Office at 172 Montacute Road, Rostrevor.
