Past Mayors and Chairmen

Campbelltown District Council was proclaimed on 26th February 1868.

At this time, a Chairman was elected to lead the Council. The first Chairman was Alfred Walters, who was appointed during the first meeting of the Campbelltown District Council held at the Paradise Bridge Hotel on 2nd March 1868.

When the District became a Municipality on 11th April 1946 the Chairman’s title became Mayor. Thus, the first Mayor of the Campbelltown Municipal Council was Michael Joseph Daly in 1946.
