Fruit Crew and Grow Free

Listen

Fruit Crew

The Campbelltown Fruit Crew are a small group of trained volunteers who rescue excess fruit from households in the Campbelltown Council area. The collected fruit then goes to local organisations that work with people in need.

The project is about making use of existing sources of local fresh fruit that will otherwise end up as waste. Volunteers not only assist in the practicalities of harvesting, collecting and sharing of fruit, but also help with building friendships and supporting people to maintain their fruit trees.

Since commencing in late 2016 the Fruit Crew have collected and distributed up to 1800kg of fruit.

To become a Fruit Crew volunteer or to request the Fruit Crew come and pick your excess fruit please contact Sophie Kavoukis, Community Development Officer - Neighbourhoods, on 8366 9303 or skavoukis@campbelltown.sa.gov.au
