Robert Parletta
Robert was born in 1968, the son of Antonio and Lucia Parletta who were born in San Marco dei Cavoti, in the Campania region, Italy. Antonio arrived in Australia in 1952 and Lucia followed in 1955. Robert was one of five children. The family bought 1.4 hectares on the corner of Silkes Road and Gorge Road in 1961 and grew root vegetables at first and then moved onto spring onions, parsley and radishes and leafy vegetables and some tomatoes. Antonio and Lucia worked together for more than 50 years and retired in the late 1980s and the land was subdivided.
