2024 Women of Campbelltown - Judi Brown

"I believe in the power of women to achieve amazing things."

Judi studied to be a nurse in Brisbane in 1964-68, but it was her further studies in neonatology and midwifery at the Queen Victoria Hospital in Adelaide that would set her on the most extraordinary path taking her across Australia and overseas to the UK, South Africa, Netherlands, Poland and Middle East.

Judi combined raising her family and supporting the family business, Newton Veterinary Clinic with her career dedicated to midwifery.

Judi’s career spills over into her volunteer work with the Rotary Club of Morialta where she initiated the Rotary midwifery leadership buddy project in Papua New Guinea (PNG), a project that supports PNG midwives in leadership development.

Judi’s warmth, compassion and resourcefulness has made a genuine difference in maternal health supporting women, children and midwives across the world.
