ACH Group is a not-for-profit community organisation promoting opportunities and services to support good lives for older people, and offers volunteering opportunities within the community, residential, social, health, and housing programs and services as well as special events.

ACH Group volunteers work with staff, other volunteers, and their customers in a broad range of roles, including:

Volunteering options are available seven days a week, and days and times are flexible. They offer ongoing training for all volunteers, as well as resources and other publications to support you in your volunteering role.

The Animal Welfare League (AWL) is looking for volunteers to join their fantastic Thrift Shop team.

For the past 85 years, Beyond Blindness has provided a range of services to South Australians who are blind or vision impaired.

Becoming a volunteer at Beyond Blindness will provide their members with greater independence and quality of life, but a volunteer will experience great benefits as well.

Beyond Blindness are seeking drivers and sight guide volunteers, volunteer drivers for weekend social outings, and a handy person volunteer.

The Corner Playgroup offers a varied, inclusive, educational, and fun programme for pre-school children.  It is staffed by a coordinator and volunteers, who work to provide a safe, supportive and friendly atmosphere for both the children and their care-givers.

Volunteers who could help with setting up and packing away children’s activities, kitchen duties, provide friendly support to care-givers, would be very welcome.

In accordance with state regulations volunteers would need National Police Clearance certificates, and undergo child-safe training (organised by the church).

Lochiel Parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event in which you can walk, jog, run, volunteer, or spectate and is held every Saturday at 8.00AM at Geoff Heath Golf, James Street, Campbelltown.

The event is entirely organised by volunteers and Lochiel Parkrun is looking for volunteers to assist on the day.

There are a variety of volunteer roles on offer including operating the timer, scanning the runners’ barcodes, or marshalling and the volunteers are friendly and welcoming and often grab a post parkrun coffee in the Geoff Heath Golf shop after the event.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) Scheme matches friendly Volunteer Visitors to older people wanting social connection and aims to promote links between people living in an aged care home or in their own homes and the wider community.

Lutheran Care is a non-profit community services organisation and are the Lead agency of a consortium of ACVVS providers working across Australia, and across multiple locations in South Australia and Adelaide.

To become a Volunteer Visitor with the ACVVS through Lutheran Care you need to:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have access to transport
  • Be available for one hour each fortnight
  • Undergo and application and orientation process, and any required training
  • Obtain police checks as directed

During a visit, Volunteer Visitors can expect to spend their one-on-one time chatting, playing a game, having a cuppa, engaging with technology, listening to music, reading, or gardening with their matched recipient.

Meals on Wheels SA plays a vital role in helping people in the community live independently by providing high-quality meals.

Meals on Wheels Campbelltown are seeking volunteers to help in office support, kitchen helpers, drivers, and passenger deliverers.

Varying shifts available, but generally they are:

  • 9am - 11am (kitchen)
  • 11am -1.30pm (driver/delivery)
  • Negotiable (office support)

As a not-for-profit community owned private hospital and aged care facility, the North Eastern Community Hospital’s (NECH) unique brand of compassionate and excellent healthcare has always had volunteering as a key component.

Their friendly and welcoming team of some 50 volunteers generously donate thousands of hours each year to provide wonderful support, comfort and assistance to patients, residents, their families, and visitors.

The NECH volunteer program operates across both the hospital and aged care facility to provide valuable services across areas such as:

  • tending to patient, resident, and visitor information requests
  • escorting patients through the admissions process and to their rooms
  • helping out in Magnolia Café and assisting customers with their purchases, with all proceeds going towards new equipment for and upgrades to the hospital and aged care facility
  • undertaking clerical duties such as collating patient charts and filing forms
  • looking after flower arrangements across the public areas and ensuring that patients’ and residents’ flowers are kept fresh
  • taking aged care residents on outings and assisting them with crafts and other activities

If you're interested in volunteering, contributing to the community, meeting new friends and enjoying the social experience of being part of a Club, East Torrens Cricket Club is looking for you.

East Torrens Cricket Club is currently looking for Team Manager’s and scorers and are happy for the role to be shared between volunteers. Support will be available to assist volunteers with their roles, experience or specialised knowledge is not required.

The Team Manager’s would be required to provide support to the Coach in looking after player requirements, ensuring sufficient hydration (cordial/water/individual’s requirements), assisting opposition team Managers in providing drinks at structured drink breaks, and a number of other small tasks.

Required days include Saturdays and some Sundays from October 2023 until the end of March 2024.

A standard police clearance is required and the Club will reimburse the Volunteer.

With a Health and Wellness Centre onsite, Resthaven Paradise & Eastern Community Services main office at Paradise, offers a range of in-home support and respite, health and wellness activities and allied health services.

As a volunteer at Resthaven you can enrich the lives of older people in our community.

Some examples of the ways to volunteer at Resthaven include:

The SES provides emergency assistance to thousands of South Australians every year, with emergency response provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This would be simply unachievable without the support of more than 1600 volunteers across the State. Volunteer roles are varied and not all roles are about rescue and response.

SES volunteering roles and positions available across South Australia include:

  • Operational Roles for hands on volunteering
  • Non-operational Roles which support operational activities
  • Marine roles for people with nautical skills
  • Youth roles for young people between 13 and 17 years old

If you would like to volunteer your time to deliver newsletters or become a committee member, your local Neighbourhood Watch groups would love to hear from you. The level of commitment required varies, however, newsletter delivery is approximately an hour or two per month. If you love walking and getting out in the fresh air, this could be a job for you.

Depending on the group, committee meetings are held monthly, bi-monthly or sometimes quarterly and run for approximately one hour.

Vinnies volunteers do a variety of work including the following:

  • Pick up and delivery of furniture and stock (current drivers licence essential)
  • Moving furniture and stock
  • Stock preparation – sorting, cleaning, steaming and pricing
  • Store housekeeping – tidying, dusting, and cleaning
  • General shop duties
