Training and Development: Becoming better, being the best

Campbelltown City Council is supportive of staff pursuing training and development opportunities relevant to their job and career path in Local Government.

As part of its Corporate Training Plan, it supports a range of leadership programs offered by the Local Government Managers Australia (LGMA) including:

Emerging Leaders Program

This is an outstanding professional development opportunity for those working in local government. The program objectives include developing people who will lead Local Government in SA in the future and at all levels in their Council. Council has supported one or two staff members attending this program annually.

Leadership Programs

The Council is active in supporting staff pursuing leadership and management qualifications by offering or facilitating opportunities in these areas.

Study Leave

At the individual level, study leave of up to five hours per week may be granted to attend courses which will directly benefit the staff member in performing their job or in developing their Local Government career path. The course may also be undertaken outside of normal working hours and a part reimbursement of enrolment and course fees can be sought.
