E-waste drop off temporarily closing for redevelopment

Council’s e-waste drop off facility will be temporarily closing from Friday 10 May until mid July 2019 whilst we build an exciting new e-waste and household chemical drop off facility.

During this period you can take e-waste to the following alternative locations:

Alternative drop off locations.

  • The Good Guys Hectorville – TV’s and Computers only
  • Bunnings Windsor Gardens – All small to medium e-waste (EXCLUDING batteries)

Please remember that e-waste is officially banned from being sent to landfill as they contain precious metals that are becoming rare and valuable.

Exciting new facility planned for mid 2019!

Council’s new drop off facility will accept a wider range of difficult materials to dispose of including:

  • Electronic waste (i.e. TV’s and computers)
  • Batteries
  • Cleaners, acids and bleaches
  • Engine coolants and glycols
  • Flammable liquids (e.g. Hydrocarbons and fuels)
  • Flares
  • Fluorescent lights
  • Garden Chemicals, fertilisers and poisons
  • Gas cylinders
  • Paints
  • Smoke detectors
  • Solvents

Materials that will NOT be accepted – ammunition, asbestos and explosives.

More information on this will be made available closer to the date.
