Y.W.C.A. 'Kotara Club' Of Campbelltown

A Dutch lady, Irene Sholton, who has since returned to The Netherlands, was the original founder of our club in the year 1975.

It began with five or six women and as numbers grew, so did the need for a crèche. Our club is still growing strong, with no need for a crèche as we are nearly all grandmothers. We have moved premises twice and now meet at the Campbelltown Function Centre.

Meeting weekly we have a varied programme ranging from guest speakers on all manner of topics, occasional outings, game days and time for auctions etc to help us support a variety of charities.

In joining Kotara we develop friendships, share our concerns and worries, learn new skills, contribute in a worthwhile way to our community and overall develop as a person.

We are always looking to grow our club, and we look forward to the publication of the history of the Y.W.C.A. in our state and trust we have contributed in some small way. Certainly we all feel the richer for our involvement with this very worthwhile organisation.
