Hedwig H Mayrhofer was born in Vienna, Austria on the 19 July 1941.

Werner P Pilat was born in Vienna, Austria on the 8 June 1939.

They were married in Vienna on the 1 July 1960.

Both came to Australia on the Ship 'Roma' belonging to Flotta Laura, arriving in Australia in early April 1961.

Their only child a son, Rene Eric, was born on the 9 October 1967.

Werner and Hedwig became Australian Citizens on the 24 February 1975.
