Lions Club of Rostrevor, Inc

The Lions Club of Rostrevor began one evening in March 1980 when a number of people from the Rostrevor community met by invitation of the Lions Club of Campbelltown in the Campbelltown Community Centre.

As a result of the interest and enthusiasm of those who attended that meeting, the Lions Club of Rostrevor was later formed and meetings were held initially in the now demolished Campbelltown High School Library. The Club Charter was subsequently requested from Lions International and was granted on 29 April 1981.

Upon chartering, the Lions Club of Rostrevor became part of the International Association of Lions Clubs, the largest service organisation in the world now with over 40,000 clubs in more than 180 countries and geographical locations.

Members of the Rostrevor Lions Club work for, and support various charities and community groups in the Campbelltown Council area as well as in the wider community in South Australia. As part of the International Association of Lions Clubs, members also support various activities around the world, particularly in efforts to relieve suffering of people affected by blindness and diabetes.

Apart form the rewards and satisfaction to be gained from helping others; members of the Rostrevor Club, like all Lions Clubs members, also enjoy the companionship and support of their fellow Lions. They also enjoy the social interactions with other Lions and their families, not only from within their own Club but from other Clubs elsewhere in Australia and overseas.

The Rostrevor Lions Club continues to be a strong, happy and contented club with a very high attendance record and participation in club affairs, community projects and support for those in need.
