Antonio Falco was born in Marigliano in Napoli, Southern Italy on 2 February 1934, and passed away 22 November 2020.

On 1 March 1966 he arrived in Melbourne, the name of the ship in which he travelled was the Gallileo, he then came by train to Adelaide.

At first he lived in Norwood and found work immediately for the Chrysler Car Company.

In 1967 he moved and rented his own home at 6 North Street, Hectorville SA 5073, before living in Maylands SA 5069, for over 50 years.

Antonio's wife Raffaela (nee Accardo) Falco was born on 2 February 1945 in Portici, Napoli, Southern Italy. She was married in Italy, Portici, Napoli on 29 July 1967 via proxy and came by ship to Australia on the Achille Lauro, arriving in Melbourne 28 September 1967 and travelling by train to Adelaide.

Antonio and Raffaela have 4 children, 2 daughters and 2 sons and worked hard to bring up their family. All the children are married and the couple have 11 grandchildren.

All their children went on to receive a good education and further their chosen careers. Antonio and Raffaela are proud to have been able to give them a good start with honest values and appreciation for our culture and reason for travel to this wonderful land of Australia.

The barriers were tough for immigrants but their warmth, kind hearts and hard working ethics soon melted any restrictions. Independence soon followed and a way of a new life emerged. As pensioners, the couple have deep and fond memories of all family and friends discovered and created along this journey experienced and in this place that they call home.

Family members come to visit often and are amazed to see the tight culture and upbringing they have passed on to their children and community whereas it has slipped away in Italy.

They are proud of their culture and they will continue to bestow it in their grandchildren and live gracefully knowing of the children's appreciation and understanding of their hard work.
