Within a year his family followed, wife Virginia, sister Luisa and son Antonio.

Originally from Apice Benevento, market garden and farming were the work experience.

Within 5 years he had started a home delivery fresh fruit and vegetable business and had another two children Genaro and Rosaria.

In the 1960's business improved and he went into the hotel industry. As the children left school they all worked full time at the Angus Hotel (City). In the early seventies with the purchase of the Bremen Hotel the family moved to Hope Valley still all working together until 1978.

Upon the sale of leasehold Raffaele and Virginia had a break from full time work to enjoy life. Over the next few years all four children married and went into different businesses.

Today Raffaele is still landlord of the Bremen Hotel and Albanese Reception Centre (next door to the hotel) and has 10 grandchildren and good health.
