Jan Street
Located between Newton Central Shopping Centre and shops to the west called Newton Court Shopping Centre, Jan Street was upgraded in 2017 through a place making project to provide the local community with a desirable public space and destination of choice that facilitates improved commercial competitiveness.
Following a number of successful community events held in Jan Street in 2017 including the Official Re-opening in June and a variety of Christmas events in December 2017, Council is keen to support further community events going forward, with the aim to activate the precinct and encourage greater use of the space for people to gather, sit, interact, be entertained, and socialise.
