Campbelltown Talent Bank

Listen

Poppies ProjectWe know the Campbelltown area is packed full of creative, strategic, skilled and experienced people – especially our pre-retirees and retirees.

The Campbelltown Talent Bank is about capturing the talents (skills, knowledge and experience) in our community and linking those talents to local organisations or projects.

The project came about through Council’s Active Ageing Advisory Committee where it was identified there is wealth of knowledge, skills and experience in our Community which is not being utilised.  The Talent Bank complements but is different to traditional volunteering.  The Talent Bank is about matching specific skills, knowledge and experience (your talents) to short term projects or roles.

Pam Schartner, local resident and Coordinator of Knit for Charities shared her talents and coordinated the Lest We Forget Poppy Project 2015.  Pam (pictured here on the right) with Madi Hammond, made, motivated, collected, promoted and supported people to make poppies.  As a result, over 3000 poppies were sent to the National 5000 Poppies Project from the Campbelltown community.   Click here to read more about the Lest We Forget Poppy Project 2015

This is a great example of sharing talents in our community.

The Talent Bank project received funding through the Office of the Ageing -SA Health to develop a model for Campbelltown and explore the untapped talents in our Community.
