Life Story Circle Volunteers

We are seeking volunteers who are interested in becoming involved with a new community project called Life Story Circles.

Circle members will meet weekly to tell their response to the Question of the Week, which will be recorded via a digital recorder and up-loaded into a free shoe box account and archived to form a body of Australia’s living history, told by the people who lived through the times, told in their own words in their own voices.

Training will be provided for volunteers. Volunteers are sought for 2 positions:

1.  Life Story Circle Coordinator

You would be required to

  • have great interpersonal skills
  • control a group of 20 participants
  • ensure each participant has the same opportunity to tell their story
  • register each LSC participant
  • introduce the weeks topic
  • assess the stories and decide upon which stories would be provided to 5AA as story of the week.

2. Media Volunteer

You would be required to:

  • have sound computer skills
  • ensure equipment is in working order before each weekly LSC session
  • connect the microphone and record the weekly LSC session
  • enter each person’s story into their shoe box account
  • email the selected Story of the Week for evaluation

For more information on the Life Story Circles project or to register your interest, contact Susan Kunhegyesy on 8366 9235 or skunhegyesy@campbelltown.sa.gov.au
