The Council is committed to engaging the community in its decision making processes and currently has 9 Committees that have Independent Members from the Community sitting on them.

There are two year appointments for Independent Members available on the Committees listed below. If you would like to apply, please complete the application form at the bottom of the page. It should be noted that with the exception of the Economic Development Advisory Committee (which pays a sitting fee), these are unpaid volunteer positions.

Access & Inclusion Advisory Committee

The Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee aims to identify and address access and inclusion barriers for people to ensure that everyone, regardless of age or ability, can access and participate in Community life. The Committee is responsible for reviewing and implementing the annual Access & Inclusion Work Table which details actions from the Access and Inclusion Plan.

Active Ageing Advisory Committee

The Active Ageing Advisory Committee advises Council on matters relating to people aged 60 years of age or older.  Members use their vast experience and skills to help Campbelltown to be an Age-friendly Community with a focus on planning for ageing, housing, physical environment, participation, health, wellbeing and services.

To be eligible to sit on this Committee, applicants must be members of the Community aged 60 years or older who live, work or mainly recreate in the Campbelltown City area.

Economic Development Advisory Committee

The Economic Development Advisory Committee provides advice to Council on economic development and employment growth opportunities. The Committee will also develop an Economic Development Plan for Council in 2017-18.

Reconciliation Advisory Committee

The Reconciliation Advisory Committee provides advice to council about local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island matters. The Committee will also continue to develop and implement a number of activities from the Reconciliation Action Plan.

Youth Advisory Committee

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) provides an opportunity for young people to discuss youth issues, make recommendations for positive change, initiate new projects and develop events for local young people. YAC members meet each month and aim to represent the needs, views and aspirations of local young people.
