All e-waste including computers, televisions, printers, toasters, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, vcr's, mobile phones, white goods, can be recycled for a small disposal fee at: E-Cycle Recovery, 12-14 Baulderstone Road, Gepps Cross.

Why Recycle TV’s and Computers?
Televisions and computers contain valuable non-renewable resources, including gold and other precious metals, some of which are quite rare. They also contain hazardous materials including lead, bromine, mercury and zinc that are harmful to humans and to the environment. By recycling these products we can not only recover useful material, but also reduce health and environmental risks.
Free Television and Computer Recycling Starts Soon
An Australian wide scheme is progressively being rolled out throughout Australia to provide a free collection and recycling service for televisions, computers, printers and computer products.
Services under the new National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme commenced in SA in July 2012 (in City of Charles Sturt) and will progressively expand across Australia by the end of 2013.
The new Scheme is funded and run by industry and regulated by the Australian Government. It will boost the recycling rate for these products from the current 17 per cent to 30 per cent in 2012-13 and 80 per cent over the next ten years, providing a long-term solution to television and computer waste.
Households and small businesses will be able to recycle televisions, computers, printers and computer products (including keyboards, hard drives etc) for free. Items will be able to be recycled through collection facilities as they become available.
The new Scheme will provide people with greater choice for recycling when disposing of televisions and computers, while helping Australia’s recycling industry to grow. It will help divert these products from landfill, and also, over time, reduce costs to local councils and ultimately the community.
When will this be available near Campbelltown?
Services will be progressively rolled out throughout Australia over time and Campbelltown City Council is working towards securing a suitable option for residents in the Eastern Region of Adelaide.
What can you do in the meantime?
As televisions and computers contain hazardous materials there are penalties for dumping these products outside collection sites. To dispose of unwanted televisions and computers consider:
- Passing them onto family or friends
- Storing them out of the weather until access to the scheme becomes available
- Using a recycling service:
