What is OPAL?

OPAL LogoOPAL in Campbelltown was a Community based healthy lifestyle program supporting families to eat well and be active.

OPAL Staff spent 5 years in Campbelltown between 2012 and 2017, working in partnership with families and the Community to make healthy eating and physical activity the easy and fun choice.

To learn more about OPAL goals, strategies and achievements please download the OPAL Campbelltown Achievements booklet. G687 Achievements A4 Booklet Campbelltown-v3 final.pdf(2207 kb)

How did OPAL work?

OPAL engaged individuals and organisations to work together across the whole community and included community groups, recreation and sports clubs, schools, health services, Council and private businesses.

Sometimes this meant making better use of existing programs and facilities and sometimes it involved developing new ones that met the needs of the Community to support healthy lifestyles.
